Gaming is one of the most profitable industries in the world and it’s nice to see Poland making a tremendous contribution in this field. We were AMAZED when we came across the trailer for Techland’s new game “Dead Island”.

To give you a bit of background, Techland is one of the biggest Polish video games developers. Founded in 1991 by Paweł Marchewka, the company initially focused on the distribution of software. Later, towards the end of the nineties, they decided to commence in-house production of computer software with the main emphasis put into video games. Currently, they develop technologically advanced high-budget games for three platforms: the PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Until February 17, 2011 “Dead Island” was simply the name of a game developed by Techland. When the trailer for the new game was posted on the web it  became a worldwide phenomenon garnering over 700,000 views on YouTube within 24 hours (1.5 million views within 48 hours!) and becoming one of the top searched terms on Google. Twitter too is abuzz with excitement.

As mentioned, when we first viewed the trailer for the game we could not believe our eyes. The quality of the animation, the original score and lifelike expressions on the faces of the characters had us thinking we were watching one of this year’s nominations in the best picture category for the Oscar. But, don’t take our word for it, watch it for yourself. We’re sure you’ll be mesmerized just as we were. ut
