Captured by the U.S. military in Afghanistan, Mohammed (Vincent Gallo) is transported to a secret detention centre in Europe. When the vehicle is riding in crashes, he finds himself suddenly free and on the run in a snow-blanketed forest, a world away from the desert home he knew. Relentlessly pursued by an army that does not officially exist, Mohammed must confront the necessity to kill in order to survive.

The film stars controversial actor Vincent Gallo, best known for his indie cult hit Buffalo ’66, and more recently his performance in Francis Ford Coppola’s Tetro.
The film was an official selection at the Toronto International Film Festival and this past fall and won several awards at the Venice Film Festival, including a Special Jury Prize and a Best Actor award for Gallo.
The film’e website describes the plot as:
Although it is never outright mentioned, the European location of the “secret detention” happens to be Poland (much has been written about secret CIA torture prisons in the country and Skolimowski himself confirmed Poland as the setting).
