We’re excited to welcome Izabela Stabinska to the YouNxt Blog mix.
Here is her first post. Enjoy…
Dear YouNxt Blog Readers,
Looks like you and I have a lot in common! We like to follow this blog to read about fascinating events, interesting people and places that are close to our hearts. That’s why I was very excited when I was offered the opportunity to be a part of the YouNxt blog and asked to drop few lines about fashion, art and design from time to time.
My name is Iza and I am a fashion designer.
I love beauty and creativity and I have a great appreciation for inspiring people who make our world a marvelous place to live.
Creating is not easy. We, designers, struggle a lot while trying to invent, re-invent, and re-work the details for the hundredth time in order to make the garment perfect.
However, if you’ve ever attended a fashion show or watched Top Model you also know that modeling is not as easy as it looks. I first realized this when I was assisting on a photo session on the rooftops of Paris.
It was a cold April evening and the entire crew was wearing sweaters, coats and scarves but still shaking in the blustering chilly wind. And as much as I appreciated the work of the photographer and the talent of the designer, the true hero of that night, was the model who, with her arms spread, was balancing herself on the rooftop while wearing only a thin chiffon dress.
Why am I writing this? Because I want you to understand that being a model often requires sacrifice (take Naomi’s bunions for example!) and not everybody can do it. I really admire their work and will be sharing it with you in future posts.
As you know, there are many Polish models turning heads on catwalks all over the world:
Anja Rubik, Kasia Struss, Ania Jagodzińska, Monika Jagaciak, Marcelina Sowa, Kamila Szczawińska, Marlena Szoka, Małgosia Bela, Kasia Wrobel, Ramona Chmura and Emilia Nawarecka.
In my next post I’ll tell you all about Magdalena Frąckowiak. But I’m curious, who is your favourite model?
Additionally, if there are models, designers, brands or fashion-related topics that you would like to hear more about, please let me know and I’ll scour the cyberspace to find it for you!
Till next time!
