25 years ago a little movie called Back to the Future sent filmgoers worldwide back in time. October 26th, 1985 was a time of VHS tapes and cassette players and when Madonna and George Michael were all the rage.
“We Are the World” raised money for the famine in Ethiopia and Pope John Paul II initiated the very first World Youth Day. Ronald Reagan was the “leader” of the free world and Mikhail Gorbachev was his Cold War adversary.
It was a time of the Iron Curtain, the Solidarity movement and a determined shipyard worker named Lech Wałęsa whose ability to inspire people would ultimately bring down the Berlin Wall only four years later.
In the greater scheme of things 25 years is like the blink of an eye but the world has changed so much since then.
So how do you see the world 25 years from today?
